DeskAds
End User Guide
DeskAds
is a graphical news-updating software that works on computers installed
with Microsoft Windows. The software works by downloading the news from
the Internet to display them on your computer desktop. An internet connection
is required for keeping your desktop background updated.
With
DeskAds you will be able to get only the news you need from your favourite
source, and the software program will just display your required information
upon computer startup. DeskAds then shuts itself down, freeing any of
the minimal resources that it was taking up.
Installation
of DeskAds is done in just a click on the file named install_srb.exe.
Icons will be placed in the program folder, as well as in the startup
folder and on the desktop. The program folder will also contain this
help file, along with other important documents. With the default installation,
news will be updated automatically every time that the computer is restarted.
If you don't want the software to work automatically, you will need
to remove the icon from the StartUp folder. News can be updated manually
by clicking on the desktop icon.
How
does your computer desktop work? The desktop is a special folder on
your computer that allows you to put a picture to make your working
space look better. DeskAds uses the desktop to keep you updated with
graphical news that you are interested to get. Desktops come in different
sizes, called resolution, and vary depending on age and model of your
computer. DeskAds will take care of the different resolutions by sizing
the received news to fit in all kinds of desktops.
You
need to have the Active Desktop switched off in order for DeskAds to
work. You can check if you have Active Desktop by clicking on the desktop
itself with your right mouse button and selecting Properties.
